Unity in diversity...really?

These words starts to come in my mind (in big bold letters) whenever I come across any news on something affecting country's integrity. Going only a few months back and looking at some recent incidents, which made headlines of all the newspapers, you might start to feel the same.

Few instances:
In the East, there was fight between Assamese and Muslims. Then, in the South mainly Bangalore, where all the Northeast people were threatened and made to rush back to their natives. And then, in Mumbai, Amar-Jawan statue was uprooted in a riot which grew mainly because of provoking photos in which Muslims were mass-killed in Eastern countries, shared on Facebook. However, these no-source-photos were far from reality and were only a plot of External Terrorist groups to add fire from within the country. And, again, Bihari's were called 'infiltrators' in Maharashtra by Raj Thakhrey and now a case is filled against him on his inflammatory words.

Unity in diversity
Unity in diversity

Actually our own people should be equally blamed who shared all the-nonsense photos. I would call these people 'stupid' who doesn't give a second thought on the provoking photos and blindly share. It feels really pity on the people who doesn't use their little, even a little part of their brains before attempting such actions. And, unknowing or knowingly, add their contribution to the unwanted and tragic incidents affecting other people.

Such type of incidents did happened in the past but not this frequently and people are expected to be more intelligent and broad minded in this present India, which doesn't look the case to me.

Though, I (we) have always believed that one of the strengths of our country is Unity in Diversity. I hope, it always remains the same and Government learns how to tackle these issue and prevent them from happening in the future, only if they get time from eating public's hard earned money.

Should I change my password?

Recently found a website that will check and to some extent can answer to your question: Should I change my password?

The name of the website itself says it all. You just need  to enter your email (it will not store your email id, according to the website) and it will let you know, if your account has been hacked and require a password change.(That's pretty cool :-), isn't it? )

Here is the link --> shouldichangemypassword.com

This website doesn't actually check for your password strength etc, no at all. It has database of the all the accounts hacked and leaked on the internet (as of 27th July 2012, it claims to have more than 1 crore 20 lakhs email ids database :-O). It will look up your email id in those leaked email ids. If granted, it can store your email id and alert you when your email id comes in the list of leaked email ids on the internet. Its a simple idea but its really good, I must say.

So, go and check if you need to Change Your Password?

It says, I don't want to change my password :-D

In this today's world of rapidly growing internet world and in the same pace is growing the methodologies of breaking security and hacking. Or you can say, the risk has increased to many folds. So, having a strong password has been a mandatory part of your web world, at least.

Here are some of the tips, I believe that can help you in this regard:
  • Treat your passwords like your ATM pin. :-D
  • Avoid having dictionary words, strictly, even a beginner will crack it.
  • Lengthy password really helps. Try to have at least 8-10 length of password.
  • Its really good to have some special characters like  $, *, #, @ etc in the passwords.
  • Never try to save your passwords in a text files, emails, in mobiles etc.You can use your BRAIN, really :-P
  • Change your passwords once in every 3 months, at least.
  • Avoid using "save this password" features of web browsers. Never on Shared Computers.

So, always Keep It Simple Secure ;-)

Power of Smile :-)

Smile, the word itself brings a smile on the face :-)

Some people say smile is actually an abbreviation, i.e. smile shouldn't be written as smile but S.M.I.L.E

S.M.I.L.E. = Sweet Memories In Lip Expression.

Smile is really powerful. Here I have listed some of the applicability of smile:

Smile - to show you are Happy.
Smile - to start a conversation (a kind of a Hello !)
Smile - to end a conversation (it was nice talking to you !)
Smile - to stretch you face and mouth muscles (yeah, that helps you stay fit ! :-P)
Smile - when not interested in replying (polite way of saying SHUT UP! xD)
Smile - to look beautiful/smart 8-)
Smile - to defeat a competitor (only Mentally, can help sometimes defeating in real also)
Smile - to show that you are friendly and have a lovely heart <3
Smile - when going thru Things-Going-Wrong or It-Happens-To-Me-Only times (it eases of worries a bit)
Smile - in front of the camera during photo clicks (would avoid re-clicking or deleting the photo :-D)
Smile - when you win (that shows your hard work and patience finally paid off )
Smile - when you like another person to Smile also (Smile please !)
Smile - to express your gratitude.
Smile - when reliving good old memories (it may accompany with some EYE RAINS also)
Smile - while greeting/ saying good bye to somebody.
Smile - simply, just to smile :-)

Smile Please - Ankit Khare
Smile please - Ankit Khare

Please share if you know any other power of smile.
Always keep smiling :-)

Two persons can never have the same bonding level for a long period of time !

My Thoughts# 3

"What I feel is that two persons can never have the same level or kind of bonding for a long period of time. Assuming, they are having the similar frequency of interaction"

Ok, let me give some clarity on this:
What I actually meant is that two persons, whether they are friends, brothers, sisters, husband/wife, bf/gf etc, they can never have the same level of bonding (you can say, level of relationship also) over  a long period of time. The level of binding will either increase or will decrease, it will never be on the same level. Here, the frequency of interaction also matters. People not in touch for a long time, may not take time to get that same bonding level back, that is really true :-)

catch me if you me - Ankit Khare
Catch me if you can - Ankit Khare

And, the reason I think is that in the starting, a lot of things are unclear/unknown about the other person. If person likes the first impression, they will become friends. They have seen only the TRAILER. And, with the passage of time people get to know the things better. True colors come out. Then, the WHOLE PICTURE comes to the screen. Then, it depends, how the bonding turns.

The more things get clear, the more strong or weak the bonding will get.

The persons will either become from good friends to best friends, or vice-versa is also possible. Time, really is very powerful as it reveals many unknown/unclear things. Time is the best story teller. :-D

I know, many of you might not agree with me on this but its just a random thought of mine. Comments are always welcome !

Jack of all trades, Master of none !

Heard this quote a long time back during my school days and now realizing the true meaning of it.

"Jack of all trades, Master of none !"

This quote is so true !
All you need is to be only Jack, not the Master. (I believe, people know the hierarchy of card games.. :-P )

If you try to become Master, it will require consistent hard work. And, for Jack, COMPARATIVELY, less hard work. Don't forget the work comparatively, because to become Jack also, you need to work hard.

The positive thing with becoming Jack of all trades, is that your knowledge will not be limited to a particular scope. You'd have a considerable amount of knowledge and there is always a room for growth. Whereas, becoming Master has a limited scope. There will be a point of saturation of your area and ultimately you have to switch to other areas.

For instance, being in IT industry, being a Master of one technology is not advisable. The reason behind is that technology today is rapidly advancing and changing. The time you will take to master the booming technology, in that time another technology will be in trends and the former one would have become outdated. You'd have less area of scope also and switching would not be that easy after becoming master.

Though, there is always an exception to everything. Master can evolve new technologies and create history.
You'd get to know if that's possible in the process. :-D

Otherwise, what I feel, as per the quote become Jack of some, not all, technologies. This will give you more chances and scopes and well, you can always go deep in the one, you choose to work.

Its really wonderful to see how a single thing can be generalized to so many things and in different times, too..

Sleeping Directions

Few months back, I was suffering from NIGHTMARES. Sounds scary? Yes, they were scary. It kept happening for 3-4 days. So many unpleasant thoughts came to my mind regarding the cause of all this.
Next day, when I woke up around 03:00 - 03:30 AM in night due to the same reason, my mind suddenly thought; it could be b'coz I changed my sleeping direction. I quickly googled it on my mobile and was relieved to know (thanks to the power of internet) that this could possibly be the reason. And, effects could be seen just after that. Everything was fine since then. :)
So, I thought of sharing an article on Sleeping direction which I found, hoping that it could be helpful and useful to some:

Sleeping while having Head to:

North:
  • Never sleep with your head pointing to the north and feet pointing to the south.
  • According to Vastu, Dead bodies are kept in this direction. They strongly opposes this direction of sleep.
  • Brings terrible dreams, disturbed sleep and negative vibrations while you sleep which will lead to irritation, frustration and emotional instability affecting your physical and mental health.
  • Scientific Reason:  The blood in the body contains iron, making the body a magnet with the head being North Pole and feet the South Pole. When you sleep with your head to the North, these two positive polarities repel each other, disrupting the flow of blood and affecting your sleep and health.
South:
  • Vaastu highly recommends this direction while sleeping.
  • It provides sound sleep & health and increases the wealth and prosperity. It helps to have better will power and a calm mind.
Best Sleeping Direction

East:
  • Vaastu advice consultants to plan the children’s room in such a way that their sleeping direction comes out to be east. As East is the direction of knowledge and enlightenment.
  • It enhances memory, health and spiritual inclination which leads to higher concentration and retention power.
  • Scientific Reason: Early morning Sun’s rays are proved to be beneficial to one’s health. It helps production of Vitamin-D  which helps in absorption of Calcium and Phosphates. This in turns helps better brain development.
West:
  • It is not advisable to sleep in this direction.
  • It might cause disturbed sleep or illness or violence feeling.
  • Its good for people who do not permanently reside in the house, like guests.

Worlds in World !

My Thoughts# 2

I believe there are so many worlds in this world. A seperate world for every single type of thing present in this world.
You name it, there is a world of it. But the world known, only to those who live inside it.

World in the sense, the thing will look abstract from outside, but when you live inside it, you will get to know the depth.
The more deeper you go, the more you will experience.
A seperate world, having its own people, its own legends, its own terms, its own rules, its own nature.. everything of its own that makes it a different world in itself.

Well, to get more clarity, suppose you say,
Games !
It is way too generalized, yet it has its own world.
video games, outdoor games, mobile games etc.
so, lets narrow down, say counter strike aka cs. (one of the world's most famous pc game. If you never heard of it, I would be really surprised. :D)
There is a different world of it own. Known only by the cs gamers.
The size of cross hair, the dpi of mouse, unknown hidden spots, spamming spots etc are not known to beginners. You will get to know when you go deeper. Thats a different world alltogether.

Now, let see one more, say
Cricket !
Every one of us might have played/watched cricket in our life. If you know cricket, you'll know the world of it.
To name a few : position and movement of wrist during release of the ball while bowling, hand-eye coordination and direction of feet striking the ball while batting, gap between feets while wicket-keeping, position of fingers while taking a catch etc.

You can see for yourself in everything. Worlds inside the World.
So, I totally believe there are different smaller worlds in this world.
The more deeper you go, the more big you'll find it !

Comments are alwaz welcome !  :)

World's Best Camera : Human Eye

My Thoughts# 1

Yes, I believe the World's Best Camera is our own Human Eye.

There is no other camera more powerful than our eye.

Macro shots?
Wide angle shots?
You name it, it has no competition.
It has the best Lens (Eye lens) mounted. One lens for all.
With processing speed, as fast as flash of a light.

It has the best memory support of the brain also, which can store any picture/moments very safe for decades.
There is hardly any risk of losing this data, data getting corrupt etc. (Though, accidents can completely format the whole memory.. :P)

One of the disadvantages is that you can't print these photos. (Though, if you are a painter, you can try to print (paint/draw) them on  canvas. :))

The best part is that everybody has World's best Camera with them and that too, free ! :D
Try yourself to believe !

ps: The above statements are purely my own thoughts and belief. So, please ignore some exceptions like there are also people who don't have eyes (some, even don't have brain also.. :P).
